Enjoy a comfortable, safe and memorable Dubai desert safari experience with our trusted local team.
A desert safari is a guided tour into the Dubai desert that typically combines 4×4 dune
bashing with traditional activities such as camel riding, sandboarding, and an evening at a
Bedouin-style camp with dinner and live entertainment. Safaris run in shared or private
formats, and in evening or morning time slots.
Prices range from AED 145 per adult for a shared evening safari with BBQ dinner, up to AED
1,250 per vehicle for a fully private, Red Dunes premium experience. Private safaris are
priced per vehicle (up to 6 guests) rather than per person, so the best-value option depends
on your group size. See the full pricing breakdown.
Every evening safari includes hotel pickup and drop-off, dune bashing, camel riding,
sandboarding, and a BBQ buffet dinner, plus camp entertainment: henna painting, shisha,
belly dance, Tanoura, and a fire show. Unlimited soft drinks, water, and tea are included too.
No. Quad biking is always an optional add-on and is not included in any Desert Safari
package. It can be added to your booking in 20-minute, 30-minute, 1-hour, or 2-hour
sessions for an additional cost.
Lahbab is a desert area outside Dubai known for its red-toned sand — the color comes from
natural iron oxide, and the dunes are higher and steeper than the normal desert on Standard
packages. That makes for a more dramatic ride and better photos. Our Premium, Private
Red Dunes, and Morning Safari packages all take place at Lahbab.
No. The morning safari wraps up by around 11:00 AM, before the camp opens, so it doesn’t include a camp, BBQ dinner, or evening entertainment. Guests wanting the full camp experience should choose one of our evening packages.
Choose an evening safari if you want the full experience — camp, BBQ dinner, and live
entertainment. The morning safari tends to suit a different traveler: stopover passengers with a few hours to spare, guests with an evening flight or dinner reservation already booked, and anyone who’d rather do dune bashing and sandboarding in cooler temperatures and softer morning light.
Pickup is around 6:30 AM and drop-off is around 11:00 AM, from hotels and locations across
Dubai and Sharjah.
Dune bashing typically lasts around 30–45 minutes, depending on the package and route, and is performed by an experienced driver in a 4×4 vehicle.
No prior experience is needed. Boards and basic guidance are provided at the dune stop, and most guests pick it up within their first attempt or two.
For most visitors, yes — it’s one of the few ways to experience the UAE’s desert landscape,
Bedouin-style culture, and traditional entertainment in a single, well-organized trip. Choosing
the right package for your budget and travel style makes the biggest difference to how much
you enjoy it.
Desert safaris run year-round. November through March offers the most comfortable
temperatures, while safaris continue through the hotter summer months (June–August) with
air-conditioned vehicles and cooler evening camp times. (See our full Best Time for Desert
Safari guide for a season-by-season breakdown.)
Booking a few days in advance is generally sufficient, though booking earlier is
recommended during UAE public holidays and peak tourist season (winter months), when
availability is more limited.
Shared safaris are priced per person, and you’ll travel and share your camp experience with
other travelers in the same vehicle. Private safaris are priced per vehicle (up to 6 guests),
giving your group exclusive use of the 4×4 and a more flexible pace.
The standard experience takes place in the normal desert with a Standard Camp, standard
seating, and a BBQ buffet dinner. The premium experience is held at the Lahbab Red Dunes
with a VIP Camp, VIP seating, and a VIP buffet dinner.
Camel riding is included on all of our evening safaris and on the Private Morning Red Dunes Desert Safar.
Evening camps include Tanoura dance, belly dancing, and a fire show, plus henna painting and shisha for guests who want to relax after dinner.
Tanoura is a spinning dance rooted in Sufi and Egyptian tradition, performed in colorful, layered skirts that create a swirling visual effect as the dancer twirls — a highlight of the evening camp entertainment.
Quad biking is available in 20-minute, 30-minute, 1-hour, and 2-hour sessions at an additional cost on top of your chosen safari package. Pricing depends on the duration you choose — see our Quad Bike Add-on Guide or ask our team for current rates.
Yes. Evening packages include a BBQ buffet dinner (upgraded to a VIP buffet on Premium and Red Dunes packages), plus unlimited soft drinks, water, and tea. Let us know in advance if you have specific dietary requirements.
Both are shared, per-person safaris, but the Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner uses the normal
desert with a Standard Camp, while the Premium Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner upgrades
you to the Lahbab Red Dunes with a VIP Camp, VIP seating, and VIP buffet dinner for AED
54 more per adult.
The Private Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner (AED 950/vehicle) uses the normal desert with a
Standard Camp. The Private Red Dunes Premium Desert Safari (AED 1,250/vehicle) takes
place at the Lahbab Red Dunes with a VIP Camp, VIP table, VIP seating, and VIP buffet
dinner.
Private safaris accommodate up to 6 guests per vehicle. Larger groups can book multiple
private vehicles or choose our shared packages, which have no group size limit.
Not necessarily in raw cost — six shared tickets on the Standard package (AED 870) usually
add up to less than the AED 950 private rate. What a private safari buys you is exclusive use
of the vehicle and camp, and the flexibility to set your own pace — not a lower price for
larger groups. If minimizing cost is the priority, shared safaris scale well for any group size.
Yes, on our shared packages. Children under 12 pay AED 120 on the Desert Safari with
BBQ Dinner and AED 169 on the Premium Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner. Private safaris
are priced per vehicle, so there’s no separate child rate.
We offer hotel and location pickup across Dubai and Sharjah. You’ll confirm your exact pickup point when booking.
Evening safaris pick up between 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM and return around 8:00 PM. The morning safari picks up around 6:30 AM and returns around 11:00 AM.
Light, breathable clothing works best, along with closed-toe shoes for dune bashing and sandboarding. Pack a light layer for the evening, once temperatures drop after sunset, and choose modest clothing out of respect for local culture. See our full guide.
Pregnant guests are welcome, and we recommend booking a private safari so dune bashing can be skipped if preferred, without affecting the rest of your group’s experience.
Yes, desert safaris are a popular family activity. Dune bashing involves sharp turns and drops that some very young children or motion-sensitive guests may find intense, so it’s worth mentioning any concerns when you book so the ride can be adjusted where possible.
We accept cash, card, and online payment. Card and online payments include a 5% bank processing charge; paying by cash avoids this fee.
Yes, a 5% bank charge applies to both card and online payments. There’s no extra charge
when paying in cash.
Cancellations are free of charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled pickup time.
Yes. The Private Morning Red Dunes Desert Safari runs with pickup around 6:30 AM and return around 11:00 AM, priced at AED 575 per vehicle for up to 6 guests.
It includes private-vehicle transport to the Lahbab Red Dunes, dune bashing, camel riding, sandboarding, and bottled water. It does not include a desert camp, BBQ dinner, or live entertainment.
Dune bashing is performed by experienced drivers in vehicles suited to desert terrain, with seatbelts required throughout. As with any adventure activity, guests with back, heart, or motion-sickness conditions should check with their doctor before booking and let the team know in advance.
In the rare event of extreme weather, such as heavy rain or a sandstorm, your safari may need to be rescheduled for safety. Get in touch with our team as soon as possible if conditions look uncertain around your travel date.
In reality, it’s a controlled, driver-led activity on known dune routes, with seatbelts required throughout — the sensation is thrilling, but it isn’t reckless.
Packages vary more than most people expect. The desert location (normal desert vs. Lahbab Red Dunes), the camp tier, and whether you’re sharing your vehicle all meaningfully change the experience and the price.
Not necessarily. Our shared Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner includes the same core activities and entertainment lineup as our private packages — private simply buys you your own vehicle and pace, not a different set of inclusions.
Enjoy a comfortable, safe and memorable Dubai desert safari experience with our trusted local team.
